Virtualisation / Data Centre
Rwanda Revenue Authority is procuring a full hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) platform for its Primary and Disaster Recovery data centres — one of the most technically substantial tenders in East Africa this quarter. The scope is comprehensive: supply, installation, configuration, VMware migration, 3-year support, and professional training for six RRA staff at the vendor's recognised centre in Dubai.
The hardware specification is enterprise-grade: three nodes, each a 2U rack-mounted server with dual Intel Xeon 6787P (86-core, 350W, 2.0GHz), ranging from 2TB to 4TB RAM and 100–150TB NVMe SSD per node, with 10GbE SFP+ cluster switching. The HCI software licence covers 64 cores for 36 months at Professional Support tier. The solution must include built-in orchestration, a single-pane-of-glass management interface, VM and container co-existence, automated DR replication configurable as frequently as every 5 minutes, and full live migration capability.
Bidders must have completed at least one comparable HCI deployment and field two certified technicians holding all four credentials: Sales Professional, Datacenter Infrastructure, Technical Professional, and Data Center Technical certifications. Manufacturer authorisation required. Delivery: 90 calendar days per node from purchase order. Joint ventures permitted.
Who should bid: Nutanix, VMware/Broadcom, Scale Computing, StarWind, and Huawei authorised resellers and integrators. Also strong for Dell, HP, and Lenovo HCI partners with East Africa public sector deployments. Submit online via umucyo.gov.rw — doc fee RWF 10,000 (~$7 USD).
